About This Tool

Remove unwanted pages from your PDF documents with a visual, intuitive interface. After uploading, browse a thumbnail grid of every page and click the ones you want to remove. See exactly what you're deleting before you commit. Perfect for removing blank pages, cover sheets, or irrelevant sections from reports and documents. All processing happens in your browser, your documents remain completely private.

How To Use

  1. Upload a PDF file by dragging it into the drop zone.
  2. Browse the thumbnail grid showing every page in your document.
  3. Click on pages you want to remove, selected pages are highlighted.
  4. Click "Delete Selected" to create a new PDF without those pages.

How It Works

The Delete PDF Pages tool renders every page of your PDF as a small thumbnail using pdfjs-dist, creating a visual grid where you can see the content of each page. When you click on a thumbnail, it toggles a "selected for deletion" state, indicated by a visual highlight.

When you click the delete button, the tool uses pdf-lib to create a new PDF and copies over only the pages that were NOT selected for deletion. This is a page-level copy operation that preserves all content, text, images, fonts, annotations, and formatting, exactly as they appeared in the original.

The approach of creating a new document with only the desired pages (rather than actually deleting from the original) ensures that all internal PDF structures remain valid and consistent. The result is a clean, well-formed PDF with the unwanted pages simply absent. The output file size is proportional to the remaining pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I preview pages before deleting?

Yes. After uploading, every page is displayed as a thumbnail in a grid. You can scroll through and see the content of each page before selecting any for deletion.

Can I undo the deletion?

Before clicking Delete, you can click any selected page again to deselect it. After processing, use the "Do another file" button to start over with the original PDF if needed.

What happens to bookmarks and links?

Internal bookmarks pointing to deleted pages will become invalid. Links to remaining pages continue to work. External links are preserved regardless of which pages are deleted.

Can I delete from password-protected PDFs?

Not directly. Remove the password first using our Remove PDF Password tool, then use this tool to delete pages from the unprotected version of the document.

Is there a page limit?

There is no limit on the number of pages in the PDF or the number of pages you can delete. However, very large documents (500+ pages) may take a moment to generate all the thumbnails.

Are my documents sent to a server?

No. Page deletion is performed entirely in your browser using pdf-lib and pdfjs-dist. Your PDF never leaves your device and is never uploaded anywhere.
