Watermark Remover

Remove a watermark, logo, or unwanted mark from a photo online for free. Draw a box around it and blend it out, right in your browser, no uploads.

About This Tool

Mark the area covering an unwanted watermark, logo, or stamp on a photo, and this tool blends it out using the surrounding pixels. This is a manual touch-up tool: you decide exactly which area to smudge, rather than an automatic AI trying to detect and erase watermarks on its own. Works best on watermarks placed over simple, relatively uniform backgrounds like sky, a plain wall, or a solid color; it will not cleanly remove a mark sitting over busy, detailed content.

How To Use

  1. Drop your image into the upload zone or click to select it.
  2. Draw one or more boxes over the area you want removed by clicking and dragging.
  3. Click the × on a box to remove it if you marked the wrong area.
  4. Click "Remove" and download the result.

How It Works

For each area you mark, the tool builds a heavily blurred copy of the whole image and then copies just that blurred patch into the marked rectangle, replacing the original pixels there. Blurring nearby content and pasting it back over the marked area removes sharp detail like text or a logo, and because the blur is drawn from the same photo, the color and lighting of the patch roughly matches its surroundings.

The blur radius scales with the size of the box you draw. Larger marked areas get a stronger blur so the patch reads as a soft, out-of-focus region rather than a visible sharp edge, while small marks get a lighter touch that blends in more subtly.

This is a smudge, not true content-aware fill or AI inpainting: it works well when what's behind the mark is roughly uniform (sky, a plain wall, smooth skin), and it will not reconstruct fine detail, patterns, or complex textures that were covered. All of this runs in a Web Worker on your device; nothing is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this perfectly remove any watermark?

No. This is a manual smudge tool, not AI reconstruction. It blends the marked area using a blur of the surrounding pixels, which works well on simple, uniform backgrounds and less well on busy or detailed ones.

Can I mark more than one area?

Yes. Draw as many boxes as you need; each one gets smudged out the same way when you click Remove.

Can I undo a marked area?

Yes. Click the × in the corner of any box to remove it before processing.

What kind of watermarks does this work best on?

Watermarks or logos placed over plain, low-detail backgrounds like sky, a solid wall, or smooth surfaces smudge out convincingly. Marks over busy patterns, faces, or fine detail will leave a visible soft patch.

Is this legal to use?

Only remove watermarks from images you own or have the rights to edit. This tool is not intended for removing copyright watermarks from images you don't have permission to use.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The smudging happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.
