How It Works
The Images to PDF tool uses the jsPDF library to construct a PDF document entirely in your browser. Each image you add becomes a single page in the output PDF. The tool first decodes your image using createImageBitmap, then draws it onto a canvas to obtain the pixel data needed by jsPDF.
When you select A4 or Letter page size, the image is scaled to fit within the page dimensions minus your chosen margins, centered on the page. Aspect ratio is always preserved, images are never stretched or distorted. The "Fit to Image" mode creates each page at exactly the dimensions of the image, which is ideal for scanned documents or screenshots where you want pixel-perfect output.
The "Auto" orientation option detects whether each image is wider than it is tall (landscape) or taller than wide (portrait) and rotates the page accordingly. This means you can mix portrait and landscape photos in the same PDF, and each page will be oriented to best fit its image. Images are processed sequentially to manage memory, and the final PDF is generated as a single download.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many images can I combine?
You can combine up to 100 images into a single PDF. Each image becomes one page. For very large batches, processing may take a moment as each image must be decoded and embedded in the PDF.
Can I reorder the pages?
Yes. After uploading, drag and drop images in the file list to arrange them in your preferred order. The PDF pages will match exactly the order shown in the list.
What image formats are supported?
JPEG, PNG, and WebP images are supported. For best results and smallest PDF file size, use JPEG images. PNG images with transparency will have a white background in the PDF.
Can I set different page sizes for different images?
The "Fit to Image" page size option creates each page at the exact dimensions of its image, effectively giving each page a different size. For standard page sizes, all pages use the same dimensions.
Is the PDF quality good?
Yes. Images are embedded at their original resolution and quality. The PDF viewer then scales them to fit the page when displayed. For best quality, use the highest resolution images available.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is generated entirely in your browser using the jsPDF library. Your images never leave your device. You can disconnect from the internet and the tool will still work perfectly.
